Hi, my name is Raj Darar and I am a CBT therapist and EMDR therapist with over 15 years experience of working with a wide range of presentations within the NHS. In this time I have helped adults manage their mental health, from those dealing with everyday stress to those facing more complex issues like trauma or long term health conditions. I use a variety of interventions to help you to develop the skills you need to manage your emotions and build a happier, healthier life.
My approach to therapy is with compassion and a genuine curiosity about your personal experience. I provide a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. My goal is to help you understand the underlying causes of your difficulties and develop tools you need to manage them effectively. Whether you’re looking to overcome a specific problem or simply want to improve your overall wellbeing, I’m here to listen, understand and guide you. Together, we can work towards a brighter future.
I have a love for reading and a passionate interest in cinema. I enjoy how books and film transport you to another world evoking all kinds of emotions. I find it is a great way of connecting with others too. I took up Yoga a few years ago and it is a welcome break away from work but also grounds me. I like to stay active and often go for walks or work out at the gym. I attend reformer pilates sessions and love the energy I feel following the sessions and the sense of community from being around others who are working on the same goal of good health. I love a good catch up with friends and family over a cup of tea. I am always in search for new experiences or challenges to conquer for my daughter and I.
